St Peter’s Collegiate Academy students celebrate GCSE and Level 2 success

Students at St Peter’s Collegiate Academy in Compton, Wolverhampton, are celebrating exceptional GCSE and Level 2 results today, marking a day of pride and achievement for the whole academy community.

This year’s Year 11 cohort began their secondary education during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, facing unprecedented challenges as they adapted to remote learning and disrupted routines. Despite these obstacles, they have shown remarkable determination, resilience and aspiration in securing strong outcomes across a broad range of subjects.

 

Among the many successes, Muhammad M. achieved an outstanding seven grade 9s and three grade 8s, the highest results in the academy. He will progress into Three Spires Sixth Form to study biology, chemistry, mathematics and the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), with the ambition of going on to university to study dentistry.

 

Other high achievers include Stephen J., who secured four grade 9s, five grade 8s and a grade 7. He will also continue into Three Spires Sixth Form to study further mathematics, mathematics and physics, and has already set his sights on a future degree apprenticeship in engineering.

 

Evie J. celebrated an excellent set of results with two grade 9s, two grade 8s and a grade 7. She will study English Literature, history, biology and art at Three Spires Sixth Form, and reflected warmly on her time at St Peter’s:
“My time at St Peter’s has been amazing. I’ve made the best memories which will stay with me for the rest of my life.”

 

Harriet G. achieved two grade 9s, a grade 8 and two grade 7s. Following a rigorous selection process, she was awarded the Academic Scholarship at Three Spires Sixth Form, where she will study English Literature, history and photography. She said:
“The extra-curricular opportunities have been the most memorable – I’ve been able to take part in numerous shows and tours, alongside my usual subjects.”

 

There were also many other excellent performances:

 

  • Deea G. achieved two grade 9s, two grade 8s and three grade 7s;
  • Arjun B. celebrated three grade 8s, four grade 7s, a grade 6 and a grade 5;
  • Lucy C. gained one grade 9, two grade 8s, three grade 7s and three grade 6s;
  • Aman K. achieved one grade 9, three grade 8s and two grade 7s;
  • David K. celebrated one grade 9, one grade 8 and three grade 7s;
  • Yasin K. achieved one grade 9, one grade 8 and five grade 7s;
  • Julia P. gained two grade 9s, one grade 8 and three grade 7s;
  • Zeeshan R. secured four grade 9s and five grade 8s;
  • Tegjot S. achieved one grade 9, two grade 8s and three grade 7s;
  • Phoebe C. achieved one grade 9 and a Level 2 Distinction*.

 

St Peter’s Collegiate Academy’s Principal, Tim Mullen-Furness, praised the achievements of this year’s students, saying:

 

“We are immensely proud of our students at St Peter’s Collegiate Academy as they receive their GCSE and Level 2 results today. Their achievements are a testament to their resilience and steadfast commitment to their learning. Each result tells a story of perseverance and of young people striving to fulfil their God-given potential.

 

These successes have been nurtured within a community that values respect, service, and aspiration. As our students take their next steps into further study or apprenticeships, we look forward to welcoming many into our collaborative Three Spires Sixth Form. Today, we celebrate their accomplishments and give thanks for the dedication of families and staff who have walked alongside them.”

 

The majority of students will now continue their education at the Three Spires Sixth Form, based at both the Compton Campus at St Peter’s and the Tettenhall Campus at St Regis.
