    Welcome from our Principal

We are thrilled to welcome you to St Peter’s Collegiate Academy, a Church of England Academy serving the City of Wolverhampton and proud members of Three Spires Trust.

At St Peter’s Collegiate Academy, we are committed to celebrating all individuals and enabling them to live life in all its fullness. All members of the school community are valued and enabled to develop respect, a spirit of service, aspiration, and skills that will lead them toward fulfilling lives with hope and purpose.

Rooted in our Christian values, of service, respect, and aspiration our vision is inclusive and welcomes everyone, from all backgrounds, who seek an education grounded in Christian values and beliefs, which we strive to integrate into everything we do.

Our vision reflects our desire to care for and nurture all members of our school community as they are encouraged to learn and develop knowledge, understanding and to grow in wisdom. This enables them to flourish as lifelong learners who know that they are loved by God and are equipped to serve the community.

Throughout their time at St Peter’s Collegiate Academy, students flourish, benefitting from a rich academic curriculum and strong pastoral care, enriched with cultural experiences and opportunities that reflect our diverse and inclusive community. We actively encourage our students to seek new experiences, develop their skills, and learn new things to fulfil their God-given potential.

Building on the traditions and history of the academy, we are committed to preparing students for the challenges of the future. Alongside our curriculum, we are proud to offer a wide range of opportunities for students to pursue their interests and passions. We aim to embrace vulnerability through endeavour, trusting that our labour is not in vain. We are extremely proud of the remarkable work of our students and staff, who strive to live out our Christian values in all they do.

We look forward to welcoming you into our St Peter’s family.

Today we mark Shrove Tuesday, an important day in the Christian calendar and a moment of reflection within our Church of England tradition. Historically, Shrove Tuesday is a time of preparation ahead of Lent, a season associated with reflection, renewal and thoughtful self-discipline. Traditionally, families would use up rich ingredients such as eggs, milk and flour before the simpler eating associated with Lent – giving rise to the well-loved custom of Pancake Day. While pancakes have become a joyful and familiar part of the day, the tradition is rooted in the themes of reflection, moderation and new beginnings. At St Peter's, we value both the meaning and the sense of togetherness this day represents within the rhythm of the year. If you are making pancakes at home, here is a simple traditional recipe: Classic British Pancake Recipe (Crêpe Style) Ingredients: 100g plain flour 2 large eggs 300ml milk 1 tbsp sunflower or vegetable oil (plus extra for frying) Pinch of salt Method: 1. Place the flour and salt in a bowl and make a well in the centre. 2. Crack in the eggs and whisk gently. 3. Gradually add the milk, whisking until smooth. 4. Stir in the oil and rest the batter for 10–15 minutes if possible. 5. Heat a lightly oiled frying pan. 6. Pour in a small ladle of batter, tilting to coat the pan thinly. 7. Cook until lightly golden, flip, then cook the other side. 8. Serve with classic toppings such as lemon and sugar, golden syrup or fresh fruit. We wish our whole community a thoughtful and happy Shrove Tuesday. #WeAreSPCA

One Community – Service in Action We are incredibly proud of our academy community for coming together to support Amelia, an eight-year-old who is receiving palliative care for cancer. In a world that can often feel dominated by negative news, it has been truly uplifting to see such an outpouring of kindness, compassion and generosity. Students, staff and families have united to write birthday cards, sending messages of hope, encouragement and love. This is St Peter's at its very best – living out our values of service and respect, showing that small gestures can make a meaningful difference. We are one community, built on belonging, care and the simple but powerful impact of kindness. Love and compassion remain at the heart of who we are. Thank you to everyone who has taken part. #WeAreSPCA #RespectServiceAspiration #BelongingBeginsAtSPCA

A fantastic achievement for our badminton team. St Peter's travelled to Newcastle-Under-Lyme Grammar School last week to compete in the County Badminton Championships, facing five strong schools who had each won their respective leagues. The team represented the academy with real determination and sportsmanship, finishing second overall in a highly competitive field. Well done to all students involved – a result to be proud of and a great example of commitment and teamwork. #FlourishingStudents #LifeInAllItsFullness

Children's Mental Health Week This week, we are supporting Children's Mental Health Week, an important opportunity to shine a light on wellbeing and the importance of looking after our mental health. At St Peter's, we are committed to creating a safe, supportive and inclusive environment where students feel valued, listened to and able to thrive. Mental health matters just as much as physical health, and seeking support is a strength, not a weakness. Throughout the week, students will be encouraged to reflect, talk openly and access support where needed. We continue to work together as a school community to promote kindness, understanding and positive relationships. If you are struggling, you are not alone. Support is always available, and there is always someone willing to listen. #BelongingBeginsAtSPCA
