St Peter’s Collegiate Academy Marks Remembrance Day 2025

This morning, students and staff from across St Peter’s Collegiate Academy came together in a poignant act of remembrance to honour those who have served and sacrificed for the freedoms we enjoy today.

The entire academy community gathered in silence as the ceremony was led by student musicians, who performed The Last Post and Reveille with dignity and grace. Their moving performance set the tone for a powerful moment of unity, reflection and gratitude.

The two-minute silence provided an opportunity for students and staff to pause together, to remember the courage and selflessness of those who gave their lives in conflict, and to reflect on the enduring importance of peace.

Principal, Tim Mullen-Furness, said:

“Remembrance is a time to come together as a community – to reflect not only on the past, but also on how we live out values of respect, service and aspiration in our daily lives. We are incredibly proud of the maturity and reverence our students showed during today’s commemoration.”

At St Peter’s, remembrance remains an integral part of academy life, helping students to understand the significance of history, the cost of conflict, and the shared responsibility we all have to build a more peaceful world.

We will remember them.
